My dear Pete,
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead
I have to share with you the feeling of happiness I have been carrying with me since last weekend in Casa das Ervas Silvestres. I am extremely grateful to destiny which made me go along the right path that brought me to your acquaintance. It is overwhelming to perceive the difference inside me, despite the shortness of the time we spent together. Yet you exhale such a positive energy that makes it impossible to stay indifferent if one is prepared to open up to your teachings and valuable approach. I feel in balance with what surrounds me. I feel closer to others, to nature, to what is important. I feel closer to the essence of self, which has allowed me to develop more acceptance. I am more inclined to harmony and love and it seems I am discovering certain aspects of life as if I were seeing them for real for the first time ever. I might not have experienced the ultimate state of enlightenment, however I am positive that, with your guidance, I was able to go through a door which will take me to the next stage of consciousness.
Many questions remained unanswered, but I am sure we will meet around somewhen somewhere and I will have the privilege to talk to you again.
I intend to keep on meditating, in fact I have started to do so this morning. I felt restless and was therefore not really able to remain “imóvel”, but I will definitely keep on insisting, I guess my ego was strong today. Or maybe I just missed our group…
I am trying to be the change I want to see in the world – as the great Ghandi once put it – and I am fully convinced one can at least attempt to influence, not through force or lack of dialogue, but through gestures and postures.
Thank you so much, Pete!
“There’s a new book out that will change the way you think about spirituality forever.”
In Evolutionary Enlightenment: A New Path to Spiritual Awakening, Andrew Cohen redefines spiritual awakening for our contemporary world-a world characterized by exponential change and an ever-expanding appreciation for the processes of evolution.
“Andrew Cohen has the pulse of modern life at his fingertips…”
says Deepak Chopra, who wrote the foreword:
“He made me believe something I long to be true: There has never been a better time to be enlightened.”
Why such high praise? Evolutionary Enlightenment offers a distinctly different view from many of today’s most popular spiritual paths, which emphasize “being in the present moment” in order to find peace and relief from the complexity of our fast-changing world. In contrast, Cohen treats change not as something to be avoided, or merely tolerated, but as an essential aspect of reality that needs to be consciously embraced.
Through five tenets for living an enlightened life, Cohen will empower you to wholeheartedly participate in the process of change as your own spiritual practice.
